Lavadornia es un cuento infantil que acompaña a nuestra protagonista Lana en una mágica aventura hacia Lavadornia, un nuevo mundo escondido al fondo de la lavadora. Con más de 90 páginas a todo color es un libro pensado para los más peques de la casa. Lleno de originales escenarios y personajes es una historia que nos enseña el valor de la verdadera amistad.
El cuento comienza con Lana y Lino disfrutando de su baño habitual. Pero de pronto Lino, el mejor amigo de Lana, desaparece inexplicablemente en el fondo del tambor. Lana cruzará el portal hacia Lavadornia, lugar donde los olvidados en los bolsillos cobran vida. Horquillas, pañuelos de mocos, mascarillas, … toda clase de objetos aterrizan en Lavadornia, pero no son los únicos. Lana sorteará nuevos peligros de la mano de Poli, otro calcetín que lleva años vagando por Lavadornia intentando buscar a su par perdido. La malvada Meñique tiene secuestrados a todos los calcetines que algún día se perdieron pero Lana y Poli no se rendirán y viajarán para rescatarlos de una vez por todas.
Lavadornia is a children's story that accompanies our protagonist Lana on a magical adventure to Lavadornia, a new world hidden at the back of the washing machine. With more than 90 pages in full color, it is a book designed for the little ones in the house. Full of original settings and characters, it is a story that teaches us the value of true friendship.
The story begins with Lana and Lino enjoying their usual bath. But suddenly Lino, Lana's best friend, inexplicably disappears at the back of the washing machine. Lana will cross the portal to Lavadornia, a place where the forgotten in the pockets come to life. Hairpins, handkerchiefs, masks,... all kinds of objects land in Lavadornia, but they are not the only ones. Lana will be helped by Poli, another sock that has been wandering Lavadornia for years trying to find its lost pair. The evil Meñique has kidnapped all the socks that were ever lost, but Lana and Poli will not give up and will travel to rescue them once and for all.
La historia detrás de Lavadornia surgió como suelen surgir la mayoría de las ideas: rodeada de familiares y amigos en torno a una mesa con comida. Un día desayunando en Londres empezamos a bromear sobre la desaparición de los calcetines en la lavadora y lo interesante que sería contar una historia sobre ellos. Todo acabó en una lluvia de ideas que decidí recoger para empezar este proyecto. Siempre me ha gustado dibujar e ilustrar en general pero el mundo de los cuentos infantiles es una espinita que siempre he tenido. Este es mi primer gran proyecto ¡y espero que no el último! Después de varios meses trabajando en el guión, el layout, el diseño de personajes y el acabado final de cada ilustración, puedo decir que estoy muy contenta con el resultado. He puesto todo mi cariño en cada página y espero que si decides apoyar esta campaña y ésta sale adelante, disfrutes el resultado tanto como he disfrutado yo en el proceso.
The story behind Lavadornia came about the way most ideas do: surrounded by family and friends around a table of food. One day over breakfast in London we started joking about the socks disappearing in the washing machine and how interesting it would be to tell a story about them. It all ended in a brainstorm of ideas that I decided to collect to start this project. I have always liked drawing and illustrating in general, but the world of children's books is a something that I've always wanted to try. This is my first big project and hopefully not the last! After several months working on the script, the layout, the character design and the final colour touches in each illustration, I can say that I am very happy with the result. I have put all my love into each page and I hope that if you decide to support this campaign and it succeeds, you will enjoy the result as much as I have enjoyed the process.
Idealmente esto se hará realidad en época pre-Navidad asi que he incluido en las recompensas cosillas que me parecen un plus tanto si decides regalar el libro como si lo quieres para ti. Pegatinas, láminas, llaveros tejidos a crochet, ... ¿Te falta el típico regalo de última hora? ¡Pues regala cultura, que siempre viene bien fomentar la lectura! Está mal que yo lo diga pero, qué demonios, ¡ha quedado bien bonito! :)

Ideally this will come to life in pre-Christmas period so I have included as rewards little things that I think are a plus whether you decide to give the book as a gift or if you want it for yourself. Stickers sheets, crocheted keychains, prints, ... Are you missing the typical last-minute gift? Well, it's always good to encourage reading! Maybe I am biased but what the heck, it turned out really nicely! :) I thank all of you who participate in the campaign in advance, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me in my projects! I really appreciate it!
Publicar un libro es un mundo que desconocía hasta hace muy poco y creedme cuando os digo que conlleva un trabajazo y unos costes bastantes elevados. He estado en contacto con varias editoriales y todas coinciden en que el autor novel tiene que hacer una "pequeña" inversión para sacar adelante la edición del manuscrito. A mí me hace mucha ilusión poder ver Lavadornia en tapa dura y si por el camino puedo ofreceros algo más para que os llevéis un pack bien calentito... ¡pues mejor que mejor! Con este dinero podría asegurar la impresión de 200 ejemplares y la distribución de Lavadornia en librerías de todo el país como El Corte Inglés, la Fnac o La casa del Libro.
I didn't know how hard it was to publish a book till now and believe me when I tell you that it entails a lot of work and quite high costs. I have been in contact with various publishers and they all agree that the new author has to make a "small" investment to get the manuscript published. I am very excited to see Lavadornia in hardcover and if I can offer you some goodies and pluses to create a nice pack of a gift... well, all the better! With this money, I would be able to ensure the printing of 200 copies and the distribution of Lavadornia in bookstores throughout the country such as El Corte Inglés, Fnac or La casa del Libro.
